Drug screening

Urgent care laboratory drug screenings may involve urinalysis, blood draws or hair testing. In addition to rapid 5 panel and 10 panel screenings, we offer pre-employment, post-accident and DOT compliant drug testing.

Drug screening and testing

At CareNow® urgent care centers, we offer drug screening options and other testing services.

Schools, courts, hospitals and workplaces often require drug tests or screens. If your employer has ordered a drug test before you can be hired, our staff members are trained to perform these tests with accuracy and efficiency.

Our drug testing clinics

When you need to get tested, our clinics make it easy to get in and out while providing accurate results.

Urine drug tests

Before starting a new job, you may need to complete a urine drug test, which screens for the presence of certain illegal drugs or prescription medicines in your urine. We also offer blood tests.

What to expect

A certified urine drug screen collector will direct you on how to collect your sample following any applicable regulation.

Hair drug tests

In addition to blood and urine, hair may be used to test for drugs. Hair tests can detect drugs that have been used in the past one to three months.

Hair follicle testing analyzes for illegal drugs within the hair shaft by measuring drug molecules entrapped in hair.

Drugs detected in a hair test

A hair follicle drug test typically screens for:

  • Cocaine
  • Marijuana (also called THC)
  • Methamphetamines, amphetamines, crystal meth
  • Opiates (narcotics), such as heroin, codeine, morphine, oxycodone, hydrocodone
  • Phencyclidine, or PCP

What to expect

A small lock of hair about the width of a shoelace tip is cut close to the scalp. The strand of hair must be at least 1.5 inches long. Typically, hair is taken from the back of the head, just below the crown, so it's not detectable. Although it is more common to use head hair, hair can be used from the chest, legs, or armpits.

Where to get a sports physical near you

If you're an athlete, you may be required to get a drug test or a sports physical. Our clinics offer both services seven days a week, and we welcome walk-in patients.
